A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a child sex abuse investigation. James Don Edwards, 67, is charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old. Edwards, who was booked into the county jail on a $30,000 bond, is accused of abusing an 8-year-old, Tuscaloosa police said.

Two people were killed when they crashed head-on just before 5 p.m. Saturday on Highway 69 near the County Road 1635 intersection in Simcoe. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified the victims as Micah Barley Spencer, 19, of Holly Pond and Rachel Martin, 48, of Fairview.

Montgomery police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday. According to Sgt. Jarrett Williams, Andre Carroll, 37, was killed with the 2002 Honda Shadow motorcycle he was driving collided with a 2017 Cadillac XTS. Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Montgomery man has been convicted of murder for a shooting death at a barber shop in 2015. District Attorney Daryl Bailey announced the conviction of Ozzy Osborne, 27, by a Montgomery County Jury on Thursday. The verdict stems from a Sept. 11, 2015 shooting at a barber shop off of Lower Wetumpka Road. Osborne shot 30-year-old Rodrekas Zeigler once in the neck.

A statement from police says 54-year-old Meta Lovely of Duncanville surrendered Wednesday. She is being held on $30,000 bond on a charge of having sex with a student less than 19 years old.
